Elected Officials

Electric City follows the model of a Mayor-Council form of Government.
The Mayor-Council form consists of a Mayor elected-at-large, who serves as the City's Chief Administrative Officer, and a separately elected council.

The Mayor is the representative of the Executive Body. The Mayor attends and presides over the City Council meetings but does not vote, except for in the exception of a tie. The Councilmembers form the Legislative Body. They are authorized by the state constitution and laws to create local ordinances and policies. These elected officials make decisions during open public meetings that represent the interests of their constituents. The Mayor enforces what the Council has implemented.
